DE-STRESS FOR LEARNING

Human beings are designed to cope with challenge, but when the levels of stress and anxiety are just too high, our minds and bodies stop functioning properly. This means that panic actually stops us from remembering what we have learnt, so you may have experienced the feeling of the mind "going blank". This is perfectly normal, but very annoying!

In some cases, anxiety is stopping many children and young people from going into school, staying in a classroom, or making friends.

If your child is ready for a re-boot, s/he will explore:

  • the purpose and nature of stress and panic
  • the basics of the brain's memory function
  • how to clear the pathways to access memory
  • new perspectives on tests and exams
  • basic relaxation techniques to feel better able to manage anxiety and stressful situations
  • when and how to ask for help

... and develop greater resilience.
