The trouble with other people

... the force is with them ...

THE TROUBLE WITH OTHER PEOPLE

Other people can be puzzling. In large groups, they can behave in bizarre ways which many of us struggle to understand - far easier just to avoid them.

Many children and young people find social rules difficult, and often feel unsafe in open-ended, or unpredictable situations. Others feel victimised by their peers, and their confidence has been knocked.

If your child needs a resilience boost, s/he will explore:

  • the basic mechanics of group behaviour
  • strategies to assert him/herself
  • when and how to ask for help
  • the benefits of interacting with a small and 'safe' group

and will gain:

  • greater self-acceptance
  • improved self-esteem
